My favorite movie villain is Lotso from Toy Story 3. In this movie,
Andy's beloved toys accidently get taken to Sunnyside daycare center instead of
being put into the attic. Lotso is quick to introduce himself to the gang of
toys and welcomes them to their seemingly perfect new home. He is extremely
friendly and convinces the toys that being donated to Sunnyside is the best
thing that has ever happened to them, and that Andy doesn't care for them
anymore. Lotso seems to be the ideal new best buddy to the toys, but this soon
changes. He puts the toys in the room designated for the youngest daycare
students which are extremely messy and careless. The toys are badly abused, and
therefore ask Lotso to be moved into a room with older and more loving children.
But this just further reveals his true identity. Once the toys realize that
Andy truly does miss them and they want to return to him, Lotso sends his
henchman to keep watch over the toys and imprisons them. They soon realize that
Lotso is not the friendly bear they thought he was, but an evil dictator instead.
This is when we find out the reason why Lotso runs the daycare like a prison
and is so evil. Lotso was once a good toy and had an owner named Daisy. One day, Daisy
left him behind on a picnic. When he eventually made his way back home, he
found out that Daisy replaced him with an identical teddy bear. The
reason why Lotso is my favorite villain comes later in the movie when, in a heart
pounding turn of events that almost lead to Woody's death, the toys get thrown
into a giant incinerator at the junkyard. Lotso again convinces the toys that
he is good and succeeds in gaining their trust to help him survive while
risking their own lives. Once more, Lotso betrays them and leaves them to die
while he is able to escape, but they luckily return home. Lotso's extremely
deceiving, twofaced, and cunning personality are what make him stand out to me.
The fact that he can so easily act both perfectly innocent and extremely malevolent
in a split instance are what make him my favorite villain.
